Farmhouse Style Christmas Touches

Hello everyone!

Can you believe it is already the weekend?  We've got a very busy weekend ahead.  My oldest son's birthday is tomorrow.  He will be 19!  So, we are going out to celebrate tomorrow night.  Then, on Sunday, we're celebrating Christmas with my husbands extended family.

I wanted to share a few added touches to my kitchen that I was waiting on.  I wanted to add some farmhouse style Christmas touches in the kitchen.  For me, that means cozy touches like red and white grain sack and greenery (just to name a few).  Also, the smell of something wonderful cooking in the kitchen.

I received these adorable grain sack mini-stockings from Ann at Sutton Place Designs.  I just love them!  I hung them on my vintage style bottle rack in the kitchen.

I can't tell you how much I love them!

I love the quality of workmanship that went into them.  Ann cuts these from real vintage grain sacks too.

She was sweet enough to include this cute metal angel ornament too.  I hung it around the glass vase filled with birch branches.

It's those little extras that Ann does so well!

I also received these grain sack sachets she made too. They are filled with fresh lavender.

They found a spot tucked into a white gravy boat.

I added another small Christmas tree by the sink too.

I'm loving adding little trees here and there for a touch of country Christmas.

I established a baking center as well.  After all, I need these things for easy access soon!

I will be making a strawberry pretzel salad to take with us to the gathering on Sunday.  It is wonderful!  It's a Paula Deen recipe.  I'll try to share it in an upcoming post!

Hope y'all are having a great start to your weekend so far.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stirring Up Some Old-Fashioned Christmas Cheer

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to finally reveal my kitchen decorated for Christmas!  I still have a few things I'm waiting on to arrive in the mail that I want to add in here, but for now I think I'm ready to show you what I've done so far.

The first thing you'll notice is that this room is a bit of a departure from the rest of the house, which is decorated in soft neutral colors for Christmas.  I wanted to add a little fun to my kitchen this year, so red seemed the perfect color.

A bit of greenery and pops of red accent my white dishes.

Coffee station ready

Our newly made gingerbread house.

A little chalkboard humor for the holidays.

 Our dog's stocking.

An olive bucket is filled with Christmas greenery and cotton branches.

A red and white snowflake runner completes the table.

Jute upholstery webbing adorns the wreath.

So that about wraps up my kitchen!  I'll be sure to post the additions I make once the other items arrive.

Now, that the decorating is done, I can begin to bake and share some yummy recipes with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

More White Goodness

Hello everyone!

I'm not quite ready for my kitchen reveal yet.  Still waiting on something to arrive.  However, I have been playing around in other rooms and thought I'd share some more white goodness that I've stumbled on to.

While out shopping at my favorite store.....Target again, I found these pretties.

Sugared mistletoe branches!  (Well at least they look sugared to me.)

I filled my urn on my dining room table with them.  I must say I am smitten.  They are delicate and romantic looking.  They don't scream Christmas but whisper it.  Just what I wanted.

Also, I came across this darling pom-pom wreath with jingle bells.

They look just like cotton balls.  I hung it on the mirror in my foyer over the bench.

Love, love, love it!  Again, it's just a whisper of Christmas.

Today, I received the coveted Christmas issue of Jeanne d Arc Living.

So, I've been enjoying looking through it.  Such great inspiration!

Unfortunately, my son has been sick with a high fever since Sunday, so he has been home from school.  He is finally starting to feel better today.  So, I've been sticking close to home to take care of him.

I hope to have my kitchen pics loaded up soon so I can share them with you.

Hope your week is going well so far.

Thanks for stopping by!

Creamy Whites in the Foyer and Dining Room

Hello everyone!

I'm just continuing on with my holiday decor.  In my foyer and dining room I used creamy white and silver with greenery.  I didn't have to do much in either room since I already had such a neutral background too.

My staircase is draped in greenery and accented with white stain ribbons and silver ball ornaments.

A stocking filled with greenery hangs on the clock.

Simple greenery and silver balls add a touch of Christmas to the pine chest.

A vintage grain sack adds a touch of blue to the chair.

In my dining room, I just hung a wreath over the mirror and added a silver glittered "Noel" sign to it.

Greenery sprigs were added around my white dishes.

Silver balls fill the gravy boats.

Antlers piled in the basket add a rustic touch.

I will be serving dinner in here on Christmas Eve night.

Up next............the heart of the home...........the kitchen!

Tweaking the Mantel

Hello everyone!

I hope you're not sick of seeing my mantel, but I made a few small changes to it  recently.  I added a bit of burlap to it to warm it up.

I added some curly twigs to a brown and white transfer ware pitcher too.

Do you see that darling little burlap stocking hanging in the center?  Well, I just received that today from my sweet blogging friend Linda at White Weathered Hutch.  Thank you Linda! I love it!  She made it and sent it to me all the way from Canada. It is filled with wonderful Christmas scented potpourri too!  I was so surprised to receive it.  I knew it deserved a special place of prominence on my mantel.

I added a bit of brown and white ticking to my coffee table too.

On top of my armoire, I added some blue glass bottles.  I love how they reflect the light.

So, that about rounds up some changes I made in here.  Do you do that too?  You think you're done and then..........Wham!..........another idea comes into your head and you have to try it out?  That's me all the time!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Christmas Craft

Hello everyone!

I had these cute little Christmas gift tags and kept thinking I could do something with them besides just using them for packages.

So, I came up with this...........

I just tied some butcher's twine around the knobs and then tied the gift tags on (like bunting).

Now, my little chest has a touch of red, white and grey on it to tie in with the Christmas tree!

It's such a little thing, but I like how it looks.

After I did this, I walked back over to the sofa and this is what I saw.

Do you see them?  Little bitty paws........

Let's see who is behind there.

Awwww........I just had to share!

Thanks for stopping by!
