Hello everyone!

Welcome to Share Your Style!  Debra from Common Ground is your host this week.  This is also Debra's last week hosting this party due to personal reasons.  We will really miss her participation with this party.  I hope you'll join me in wishing her well.  She will continue to blog though.  So, don't worry, she isn't leaving us altogether!

Welcome Friends,

to take Dollar Tree pumpkins and make them over 4 different ways!

pssst...I think the moss covered ones are my favorite!

And this last week was spent giving
my China Cupboard a Fall Makeover, Here and Here

and now to my update...

I just wanted to let you all know, this will be my last week co-hosting Share Your Style. Nothing dramatic going on, my health is staying stable, but my life is changing, as it has a habit to do. Traveling with my Hubby and some family things are on the horizon, and I know I need to dedicate more time to those things. I'll still be posting, I just can't keep a weekly time schedule. Stepping down frees me up to post when it's easier, and hopefully no pressure. Don't worry about me, you all that have been with me over 6 years know I tell it like it is. I hope you'll still come visit me, and I hope you'll link up all the fun and inspiration with one of the other seven great bloggers who are still participating in Share Your Style. Thanks to the other co-hosts of Share Your Style! And thanks to all my readers, you know how much I love you guys! OK, hard part done...

So now,
Let's get on with the party!

Some Fall Decor in the Dining Room

Hello everyone!

Thankfully, my jury duty was cancelled so I didn't have to go in yesterday.  Woo Hoo!  And, it is Fall break here this week for my son.  So, things are a little easier this week.  This is the first year our county has ever offered a Fall break to our students.  So, this is exciting.  However, too bad that the weather isn't very nice.  It has been rainy, muggy, cloudy, and humid ever since last weekend.  I'm hoping to see the sun at some point this week.

I was able to begin some Fall decorating though.  I only did a little.  I added some to my dining room table, kitchen table, and front porch.  Today, I'm sharing my dining room.

I added some faux white pumpkins and faux eucalyptus to my dough bowl.  Y'all know that I'm all about "faux" right?

I already had all of these materials so it didn't cost me anything to put this together.  It fits in with my neutral decor too.

This is not a large dining room so I only decorated the center of the table for Fall.

I finally took a picture of this angle so you can see the wall hutch.  It doesn't always get in the picture!

I've got so many changes to share with you now too.  I moved around some furniture so, hopefully, I will get some pics of that to share soon.

Have a great Tuesday!

Suwanee Days Festival and New Pillow

Hello everyone!

Well, our desk top computer is working for the moment.  It's an intermittent problem, so I'm not sure how long it will work for me, but for now I'm happy!  I was just relieved to be able to get the Share Your Style party up and running.  No one wants to miss a party do they?!

Last weekend, I went to a couple of fun festivals.  This time I'm sharing pics from one that is right across from my husband's fire station in Suwanee GA.  We actually parked there and walked right across the street!  Most people had to park far away and be shuttled in on a bus.  Guess this was a perk of him working and helping people in that community.

Even though this was a "Fall" festival, it felt more like a "summer" festival.  It was hot!  The temps were in the low 90's.

When we first walked up, this is what we saw.  And the smell of all the good food was intense.  We ate some lunch and then walked around to see the sights.

We came upon this trailer containing snakes and other reptiles.  Hmmmm........

We decided not to look in there.

But there was this guy standing outside holding a baby alligator for people to pet.  That wasn't much my style, but there WERE plenty of soft furry animals of the canine variety all around us.  Everyone decided to bring their dog that day.  I thought it was too crowded and hot for us to bring ours.

It was so hot that kids were running around in the fountains that were outside.

There was even a shady area for kids to draw with chalk paint.

There was an art sculpture placed in the park that was a tribute to 9/11.

It was sitting on a clock with the various times marked of what happened that day.

Here is an actual piece of the tower that came down.

There were several concerts and dance performances going on as well.

We did a little bit of shopping as well.  There were plenty of vendors set up selling hand made items.

One booth was selling bundles of lavender for just $5!

I also really liked this cotton wreath.

I found something in a booth that I placed on my sofa.

It's this handmade pillow with the script writing on it.

I have been making lots of changes around my house lately too.  I moved some furniture around in the family room and sitting room.  I've also done a little bit of Fall decorating.  I don't ever do much in the Fall though.  So, I will be sure to share more with you in my future posts.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our computer will continue to work properly or that we can get it fixed quickly.  I was holding my breath the entire time I worked on this post.  Sometimes, it will just freeze up on me and not let me do anything!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Computer Problems

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, I am unable to co-host the Share Your Style party tonight due to computer problems.  It won't let me copy data etc.  I can't tell  you how many hours I spent trying to fix the problems only to give up and my computer will have to go in the shop for repair.  It has been giving us problems for a while but it is officially unusable now.  So, I regretfully won't even be able to copy the other links to the other co-hosts for the party.  You can look at my past party history to find those links though.  I will not be blogging until our computer is fixed so I don't know when I will return.  I have jury duty next week as well.  Fun times at my house!

Hopefully, I'll be back soon!

Enjoying some Fall Festivals

Hello everyone!

Hello, my name is Dian Mayasari, and I am a Fall festival enthusiast.  Ha Ha!  My favorite thing about the changing season is the fall festivals that are popping up every weekend.  I went to two this weekend!

The first one was with my sister and we went to The Market in Alpharetta.  It was held on the square with lots of tents set up and people selling everything from produce and honey to antiques and homemade clothing.

Here are a few pics from our day together.

This tent was very hot and crowded so I apologize for the blurry picture.

We actually enjoyed the shopping better in some of the neighboring shops on the square.

This store had a lot of pretty furniture and unique accessories.

I almost bought this decorative item made out of twigs.  Not sure what you call it, but I really liked it.

We loved these cute chairs!  They look like the ones from Restoration Hardware.  The table was pretty but didn't seem practical.

My sister LOVED this artwork and so did I.

I thought these homemade pencils were cute.

And what did I buy?  I bought this distressed wooden sign.  I bought this from one of the neighboring shops.  After bringing it home it landed on this wall in a hallway near my kitchen.

The next day, my husband and I went to Suwanee Days Festival.  I will share those pics with you in another post.  I found something there as well!

Do you like to go to Fall festivals?

Thanks for stopping by.

New Paint Color

Hello everyone!

I recently decided to change the color of a dresser used in my front sitting room.  It was a light blue and I loved it for a while.  I enjoyed the softness of the color and it blended well with the rest of my house.  Here is what it looked like.

But, I was now ready for this piece to go in the opposite direction. (I know I have painted this piece several times already so bear with me.)  This time I went for a bold dark color.  I started to go with black but then after going to the chalk paint store, I changed my mind.  I originally was going to buy graphite ASCP.  Until I saw a piece of furniture in the store painted in a dark charcoal.  I asked the owner of the store what color it was and she explained that it was a custom color by blending half graphite and half french linen.  So, I did just that and this is the color I came up with.

I love this new color!  She sold me a plastic bottle that allows you to mix the colors together and store it properly.  So I have that for the next time I want to use this.

Here is a close up of the color.

Oops!  I forgot to mention that I used dark wax on this piece.  She said not to use the clear on it first though because it won't turn out the same color as this.  It will be more blueish grey.

I changed up the accessories on top to better contrast with the new dark color.

Oh and one other thing I bought at her store were these cute painted old books.

Aren't they neat?  I loved them when I saw them.  They are painted in chalk paint and then stenciled on top!  I never would've thought to do that.  The owner of this store is so clever.

If you're ever looking for some Annie Sloan chalk paint and supplies (or even Miss Mustard Seed) check out her website.  She sells online and has the lowest prices!

Click HERE to go to the store's website.  It is called Brushstrokes by Maryanne.

Note:  She did not compensate me for this.  These are just my own opinions.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend.
